AI Reply Suggestions
AI Reply Suggestions adds a ✨ button to the composer in Voxel's Messages (VX) inbox. One click reads the visible conversation and offers a few ready-to-send replies as chips — click one to drop it into the message box, edit if needed, and send.
Useful for listing owners answering the same enquiries repeatedly, where the friction is writing the reply rather than deciding what to say.
Setup
- Configure a provider in AI Settings — this function does nothing without one
- Go to Voxel Toolkit → Functions and enable AI Reply Suggestions
- Adjust the settings below
Settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Number of suggestions | How many replies to generate, 2–5 |
| Tone | Match the conversation, professional, friendly, or brief |
| Custom instructions | Extra guidance added to every request |
Match the conversation is the default and usually the right choice — it picks up the register the two people are already using rather than imposing one.
Use Custom instructions for site-specific rules: "Never quote prices", "Always mention that viewings are by appointment", "Sign off as the team, not an individual".
Language
Replies are suggested in the same language the conversation is written in, regardless of the site language. A visitor writing in French gets French suggestions.
What gets sent to the AI
Only the conversation visible in the composer — the messages the user can already read on screen. Nothing is looked up server-side, and no other conversation is included.
Suggestions are never sent automatically. They land in the composer for the user to review, edit and send, exactly as if they'd typed them.
Requests are rate limited
Each user is limited to a small number of requests per few minutes, so a stuck button or an impatient click can't run up API costs.
Notes
- The button only appears for logged-in users with an open conversation.
- If the AI provider is unreachable or returns nothing usable, an error chip appears and the composer is left untouched.
- Suggestions are generated fresh each time; nothing is cached between clicks.
