AI Bot Widgets

The AI Bot function provides the assistant itself. These two widgets are how visitors reach it — pick whichever suits the page.

WidgetPresentation
AI Bot (VT)A trigger button that opens the assistant in a slide-out panel
AI Bot Embed (VT)The assistant rendered inline, directly on the page

Both need the AI Bot function enabled and AI Settings configured. Enable the widgets under Voxel Toolkit → Widgets.

Use one or the other per page

Placing the trigger and the embed on the same page gives you two independent conversations in one view, which is confusing. Use the embed on a dedicated search page and the trigger everywhere else.

AI Bot (VT) — trigger button

A button that opens the assistant panel. Best in a header or as a floating element, so it's reachable from anywhere without taking over the page.

Its wording and behaviour — panel position, panel title, welcome message, placeholder text, suggested questions — are configured on the AI Bot function, not on the widget. That keeps the assistant consistent wherever the trigger appears. See AI Bot.

AI Bot Embed (VT) — inline

Renders the assistant directly in the page layout. Suits a dedicated "find what you need" page where the assistant is the content.

Layout

ControlPurpose
HeightFixed height of the embedded assistant

Set a height that fits several exchanges without the page jumping — around 500–600px works for most layouts. Too short and users scroll inside a small box.

Style

Full Elementor styling for the container, header, and messages — background colours, border radius, text colours, and padding.

Troubleshooting

The widget isn't in the Elementor panel

Enable it under Voxel Toolkit → Widgets, then reload the Elementor editor.

The assistant appears but won't answer

The AI Bot function is off, or AI Settings has no working provider. The widgets are only the interface — the function does the work.

Suggested queries don't show

They're configured on the AI Bot function as Suggested Questions. If none are set, there's nothing to display. On the embed, also confirm Show Suggested Queries is on.

Results look wrong or too few

Searchable post types and max results are AI Bot function settings, not widget settings. See AI Bot.
