Install and license

Install and activate the plugin the same way as any other WordPress plugin — see Getting Started for the full steps, then enter your license key under Embed Reviews → License.

Activation creates one database table, wp_voxel_widget_configs, which stores the settings behind each embed code. Nothing else is written until you place a badge.

Place a badge

Open the Elementor template for the post type you want badges on — usually your single listing template — and drag in Voxel Review Badge, in the Voxel Reviews category.

Leave Post ID empty and the badge follows whichever listing the template is rendering. That is what you want on a template. Fill it in only when you are pinning a badge to one specific listing, such as on a landing page.

Pick a Widget Style, or leave it on Show All Enabled Styles to render every style you have turned on — useful while you decide, and useful on a page where you want the listing owner to pick their own.

Reviews have to exist first

A listing with no reviews renders "No reviews yet" rather than an empty badge. Check a listing that actually has reviews when you are testing.

Hand out the embed code

Visit the page as a user who can edit that listing and you will see a Copy Embed Code button above the badge. It copies two lines — a placeholder div and a script tag — that the listing owner pastes into their own website.

The button is only ever visible to someone who can edit that listing. Ordinary visitors see the badge alone.

Owners need to reach the button

The usual arrangement is a badge on the listing owner's dashboard or edit screen, where only they will see it. If you put one on the public listing template, the owner still sees the button when they are logged in and viewing their own listing — nobody else does.

Set your branding

Before you send anyone an embed code, set the badge branding under Embed Reviews in the admin menu:

• Logo — your directory's logo, shown on the badge.
• Logo Alt Text — doubles as the brand name printed on most styles. It defaults to "Reviews", which is why an unconfigured badge reads "Reviews" instead of your site's name. Set this first.
• Star Colour and the button colours, to match your brand.
