Settings
Everything on this page lives under Embed Reviews in the admin menu. Settings are site-wide and apply to every badge, including ones already embedded on other people's sites.
The screen previews each style live as you change things.
Branding
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Logo | The image shown on the badge. Pick from the media library. Displayed at 24–70px depending on style. |
| Logo Alt Text | The image's alt text — and the brand name printed on the badge. Defaults to "Reviews". |
| Show Review Count | Whether the review count appears. Off, the Button style falls back to "[Brand] Reviews". |
Logo Alt Text is doing two jobs
It is the badge's brand label as well as the image alt text, so an unset one leaves every badge reading "Reviews". Set it to your site name.
Colours
| Setting | Applies to |
|---|---|
| Star Colour | Filled and half stars, every style. Empty stars are always grey. |
| Button Colour | The Button style's background |
| Button Text Colour | The Button style's label |
| Button Border Width | 0–4px, Button style |
| Button Border Colour | Button style border |
Colours are hex values. Anything the field does not recognise falls back to the default rather than being saved.
Widget Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Default Widget Style | The style used when a badge does not specify one |
| Enabled Widget Styles | Which of the five styles exist at all — see Badge Styles |
Review Average Override
Forces every badge to a fixed rating, ignoring the actual reviews. Accepts 0–5, or empty to use real scores. There is a per-listing version of the same thing on the Elementor widget, which wins over this one.
It exists for demos and for pre-launch pages where no reviews exist yet.
An overridden badge publishes no rating markup
An override is a number you typed, not a review anybody left, so a badge showing one is deliberately excluded from structured data. Publishing a made-up rating as machine-readable markup is exactly what earns a manual action from Google.
The badge still displays the number. Only the markup is withheld.
SEO
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| SEO Anchor Text | Template for the embedded badge's link label. Placeholders: {count}, {rating}, {title}, {stars}. Defaults to {count} reviews on {title}. |
| Schema markup | Whether rating structured data is published on your own listing pages |
Both are explained in SEO & Structured Data.
{title} resolves to the badge's brand name — your Logo Alt Text, or a per-badge custom title — not the listing's own name.
